Make a Difference. Every Day.

The Department of Regional Development is tasked with promoting development, sustainable growth, and employment for all of Skåne based on political decisions. We act as a driving force, inspirer, and unifying power for regional development. The department is divided into several different units and encompasses a wide range of competencies in areas such as infrastructure, digitalization, innovation, planning, environment and climate, business development, internationalization, and analysis.

The Regional Planning Unit works broadly with physical planning and housing issues, which are significant tools for attractiveness, social sustainability, community development, and climate adaptation. Coordination of the assignment regarding regional physical planning in the Planning and Building Act is a unique task shared only by Region Stockholm and Region Halland. The unit consists of fourteen employees who work both independently and in teams on interesting and developing assignments. With us, you will have the opportunity to grow in your professional role and contribute to the unit's development. We are located in modern premises at Dockan in Malmö, but there is also the possibility of placement in Kristianstad. The assignment includes travel within Skåne, both to our offices and to other locations in the region.

We are now looking for a project manager for the project "Increased efforts to strengthen Skåne's electricity supply through physical planning," which is part of the implementation of the Regional Plan for Skåne 2022-2040. The assignment is divided between two units: Regional Planning and Green Transition and Outdoor Life, in connection with Skåne's Efficiency Commission, a regional collaboration forum for energy issues.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Your tasks primarily consist of leading the project "Increased efforts to strengthen Skåne's electricity supply through physical planning" within the framework of the implementation of the Regional Plan for Skåne 2022-2040. A central focus of the project is to strengthen the connection between regional physical planning, including the regional plan, and Region Skåne's work with energy, via Skåne's Efficiency Commission. Here, you will participate in working groups and contribute a regional planning perspective on issues related to the future energy landscape.

In your role as project manager, you will have ongoing contact, anchoring, and coordination with other partners internally within Region Skåne as well as externally. You will have a coordinating role with the Skåne municipalities as the main partners. The work also involves close collaboration with other units in Regional Development within their areas of expertise: business development, environment and climate, and skills supply.

Producing written documentation by analyzing and synthesizing different perspectives is a large part of the work, as well as translating it into oral presentations for internal and external stakeholders. Additionally, you will also work with processing cases for the Regional Development Committee.

The unit is in an exciting development phase where it will produce a new Regional Plan for Skåne, a work that you can contribute to based on your interest and expertise.

With us, you will operate in a development-oriented environment with great opportunities for learning and expanding your network. As a new employee with us, you will start your employment with an introduction followed by follow-ups and check-ins with the unit manager. There is the possibility of agreeing on flexible working hours and remote work.

QUALIFICATIONS

You have completed a higher education degree in physical planning, energy planning, or another relevant field. Furthermore, you have previous experience in relevant work with physical planning and/or energy planning, where you have worked broadly with the energy perspective within physical planning, beyond just the detailed level in the planning process. Additionally, you have prior relevant experience in project management/process management. Good language skills in Swedish, both spoken and written, are a requirement. We consider it an advantage if you have good knowledge of relevant legislation in the Planning and Building Act (PBL) and the Environmental Code (MB). Previous work within a public/politically governed organization is also a plus.

To succeed in the role, you are a self-driven person with a strong personal drive who enjoys working independently. You are structured, solution-focused, and can set the right priorities. You take initiative and show commitment to your and the unit's assignments. Furthermore, you have a clear communicative ability and can explain complex issues in a simple way. It is also important that you have broad strategic thinking and can easily switch perspectives to work cross-sectorally. A large part of the work is done in teams and through network participation, which requires you to be able to collaborate and build relationships easily. As we are in an exciting phase of both the regional plan and in the continuous development of our assignment, we see that you have the competence and willingness to contribute to this. Great emphasis is placed on personal suitability.
